DAKO-CZ TO PRESENT SOLUTIONS FOR COMPLETE BOGIE EQUIPMENT OF PASSENGER COACHES AND FREIGHT WAGONS AT TRAKO TRADE FAIR

From 23 to 26 September, Gdańsk will host TRAKO fair, the largest and most prestigious railway industry event in Poland and the second largest in Europe. Exhibitors will showcase the current state of transport systems and railway infrastructure development in Poland, Europe, and worldwide. At its 16th edition, the Czech company DAKO-CZ, a member of the CSG group and a leading manufacturer of brake systems and components for rolling stock, will also be present. DAKO-CZ will introduce new products and innovations, particularly in the field of complete bogie equipment for passenger coaches, to both industry professionals and the general public.

“This year, we approached our exhibition differently. Its main theme is sustainability. We are a company that keeps pace with modern trends while striving to set them, which is also reflected in our expositions. The combination of modern design elements, materials, metal, and greenery clearly demonstrates our company’s direction – we develop solutions that are environmentally friendly. A flagship product in this area is our electromechanical brake units, which do not require oil systems for operation, reduce the carbon footprint, and thereby cut CO₂ emissions. This revolutionary brake system is installed in the new Škoda For City Plus 52T trams for Prague,” says Stanislav Pometlo, Vice Chairman of the Board and CEO of DAKO-CZ.

The new brake system, including control units and track brakes, is installed on trams delivered by Škoda Group to Prague Public Transit Company. Tram no. 9503 has already accumulated over 20,000 kilometres with passengers, reaching this milestone on Tuesday evening, 2 September 2025, after just 75 days in operation. This tram will also be exhibited at TRAKO.

Among other products, DAKO-CZ will present units and components for complete bogie equipment of passenger coaches, an updated digital distributor, and new brake components developed in accordance with UIC standards. Pneumatic brake solutions for both passenger and freight transport will also be represented. At its stand, the company will showcase a compact brake unit DAKO KKBB for the wheel mounted brake discs, produced in versions with a parking brake or as a simplified variant without one. The advantage of this solution lies in its low operating and maintenance demands.

In the field of freight transport, DAKO-CZ will exhibit its new lightweight disc brake unit DAKO KBZ 10 for freight cars, available with a hand brake and a brake signalling device, and supplied in variants for discs with widths of 110 mm and 170 mm. Another featured product will be the ITBL integrated tread brake. This integrated tread brake is designed especially for freight cars where low tare weight is required, making their operation more environmentally friendly. Another advantage is its brake cylinder equipped with a double-sided slack adjuster, easily operated from outside the vehicle – a feature appreciated by maintenance staff during brake block replacement. The brake’s installation into the bogie is simple, requiring only four hangers. It is manufactured in a basic version or with a hand brake.

Visitors can find the DAKO-CZ exhibition in Hall C, Stand 02. TRAKO is the most important railway event in Poland and one of the key events in Central and Eastern Europe. At the previous edition in 2023, 617 exhibitors from more than 30 countries presented their products and solutions on an area of 30,000 m², attracting almost 24,000 visitors.
