From 30 September to 2 October, the twelfth edition of EXPO Ferroviaria will take place in Milan, Italy. DAKO-CZ, a manufacturer of brake systems and components for railway vehicles based in Třemošnice in Eastern Bohemia, will be there. After debuting with its own stand in 2023, the company returns this year with a host of new products for both professionals and the wider public, including a demonstration of a hybrid digital automatic coupler (HDAC) on a hybrid hydrogen locomotive, set to be one of the show’s main attractions.
“I highly value the cooperation we have established with the Italian company Sitav, an innovator in the development of the hybrid locomotive,” says Stanislav Pometlo, Vice-Chairman of the Board and CEO of DAKO-CZ. “These strategic partnerships move us forward and give us unique opportunities to apply new technologies to customer projects.”
In addition to the Hybrid Digital Automatic Coupler, the project will be equipped with a complete DAKO brake system. The locomotive, designated FENHYCE (Fuel cell ENergy HYdrogen Converted Engine), will be presented on Wednesday, 1 October, at 12.30 on the outdoor display area AT-A02. The presentation will showcase the DAKO Hybrid Digital Automatic Coupler as well as the execution and concept behind the hydrogen locomotive’s development.
Among other products, DAKO-CZ will present a tread brake unit at Expo Ferroviaria. This compressed-air-actuated brake is designed for passenger railway vehicles and features a pneumatic cylinder, an automatic slack adjuster, and a transmission mechanism. Scale models of brake units and brake components developed to UIC standards will also be on display.
“We believe DAKO-CZ’s exhibit will appeal to both industry experts and the wider technical audience. It will be a place to forge new contacts and strengthen client relationships. For the Italian fair, we have also prepared an impressive slideshow highlighting the event’s key themes: digitalization, electronics, sustainability, and innovation,” concludes Stanislav Pometlo.
Visitors will find DAKO-CZ in Hall F, Stand 80. Expo Ferroviaria is Italy’s leading railway event. At the previous edition in 2023, 274 exhibitors from more than 15 countries presented their products and solutions, 80 companies exhibited for the first time, and the fair attracted nearly 12,000 visitors.
